6 months

Xavier,

Happy half birthday to you!  Happy half birthday to you!  We can't believe its been a whole SIX months since you were born!  What joy you have brought to our family!

There's been lots to talk about this month:  2 four hour car rides, 3 time zone changes, 5 plane flights, 1 canceled flight, 1 rented car, 1 unexpected drive home from the Miami airport= 1 BUSY month for our little family!  Oh yeah, throw in a few winter holidays and a wedding- WHEW!  You handled it all like a champ though.  You were well behaved (i.e. well fed and sleepy) on the plane flights and got compliments from the other passengers about how good you were.  You came back with a cold and runny nose that hasn't really gone away but the doctor said you're fine its just snot fun to have a runny nose all of the time.  (Hee hee- get it- SNOT fun : )

We actually had a wonderful time traveling for the holidays to Crescent City, Chicago and Breckenridge.  You got to meet so many family members and friends of momma and papa.  You also got to see snow for the first time!  Santa was VERY good to you and you now have more toys then you have time to play with.  You might argue with us on that one though.  You especially love your Lil' Zoomers cars and trucks, Ring Stack, keys, light-up phone and Sing-a-ma-gigs.

You have grown so much developmentally this month.  You have tried your first vegetable and fruits.  On the menu was Butternut Squash,  Sweet Potatoes, Apples and Pears.  We were waiting with camera in hand to capture the big reaction to the taste but you didn't really seem that impressed or grossed out either by any of the foods you've tried.

Also, you are mobile now!  You can scoot yourself all around the carpet and we have to watch you extra carefully now.  If you see something you want out of reach, it might take you a minute or two but you will find a way to get to it, either by rolling or half scooting yourself in the general direction.  We can tell crawling is coming soon because you can get your backside up in the air and can push-up using your arms. You are so close to working out the mechanics to combine them and move.

Another HUGE thing that happened this month was that you started school since mom went back to work full time.  You sure adjusted a whole lot better then mom did! Miss Viola, Miss Farrah, Miss Kimmy and Miss C are so sweet to you.  When mom picks you up in the afternoon (after breaking about 50 traffic laws to get to you as soon as she can) and asks how your day went, they always reply, "Great... as always.  He's such a good baby!"  They even bring you to the front desk sometimes to greet everyone as they come in- too funny!  Your friends Lily and Kadie are also in school with you and Riley is joining you next month.  It's going to be one big party in the infant room.

We love you so much and can't wait to see what you do next!  Thanks for being the best baby ever!

Love,
Momma and Papa

Vegetables- WHAT?????

Xavier had his first vegetable this week- hello butternut squash.  It was soon followed up by yummy sweet potato.  We were expecting some type reaction, either love or hate, but he was just cool with it and acted like it was no big deal.

Apples are on the menu this weekend so we'll see how that goes...
